Lafzon Ki Dunia (لفظوں کی دنیا, “the world of words”) is an independent website for people who love Urdu poetry: those who read Nastaliq fluently, those who grew up with Roman Urdu on their phones, and those who know these verses through Hindi.
How we treat poetry
- Attribution first. Every poem shows whether its attribution is widely accepted, checked against a source, disputed or original. We do not credit verses to famous poets without reason.
- Rights respected. Classical poetry is in the public domain. Modern and contemporary work is published only with permission or under licence.
- Every script. Urdu is set right-to-left in Nastaliq; Roman Urdu and Hindi are set left-to-right. When a version is missing, we say so instead of guessing.
- No invented numbers. We do not show made-up reading counts. Editorial picks are labelled as such.
