How do I switch between Urdu, Roman Urdu and Hindi?
On every poem page, use the tabs above the text. If a version has not been prepared yet, its tab is disabled and the original Urdu is shown.
How does search work?
Type a remembered line, a poet or a word in any script. Besides exact words we match a sound-based key, so dil, دل and दिल find each other. It is a rule-based system, not artificial intelligence, so very unusual spellings may still be missed.
Why does a poem say “Attributed”?
It means the verse is widely credited to that poet, but our editors have not yet checked it against a printed edition. “Source verified” appears once they have. “Disputed” means scholars disagree about who wrote it.
Can I donate?
Not yet. The Support Us page explains how voluntary contributions will work. Contributions stay switched off until a payment provider has approved the website.
